Strong Voices - Strong Women at the RED LOUNGE Central Germany 2024

The Red Lounge makes a statement about the role of women in business and society. In the super election year of 2024, leading candidates and political visionaries of the upcoming city and state elections were introduced in this exclusive setting in personal, woman-to-woman interviews. The topics addressed included the challenges women face in politics as well as their personal careers and motivations.

There was agreement that women need to show greater solidarity and support for one another in order to overcome structural barriers and increase the proportion of women in politics. This Red Lounge evening clearly succeeded in doing so.

Personal insights were provided by

• Angelika Bordt, top candidate for Leipzig City Council,
• Sabine Heymann, active city councillor and top candidate for Leipzig City Council,
• Cornelia Blattner, top candidate for the Saxony state parliament,
• Katrin Götz, Chairwoman of the Weimar Women's Union,
• Marion Rosin, top candidate for the Thuringia state parliament and
• Gesine Sommer, Head of the Office of the District Administrator for Economic Development / District Development Leipziger Land, who are politically involved in the CDU alongside their business activities. 

There was agreement that women need to support each other more in a spirit of solidarity in order to overcome structural obstacles and increase the proportion of women in politics. Just as in business, as was clearly achieved on this Red Lounge evening.

The special ambience of the evening with stops at the Palazzo Zinho Restaurant & Bar and Café Wagner, tastings of regional specialties, framed by a fashion show by Wagler Couture and music by Karolina Trypala invited to intensive conversations and let the red dresses shine during the lively dance!
