Malaysia aims to attract over 500,000 British tourists as part of the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign, up 28% from last year, driven by the launch of new international flight routes.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi highlighted that the U.K. remains one of Malaysia's strongest European tourism markets, The Star reported.

In 2024 alone, 390,035 British travelers visited Malaysia, contributing over RM2.5 billion (US$591 million) in visitor receipts.

Malaysia has recently approved 103 new international routes, 29 additional flight frequencies, and five charter flights.

Malaysia, named Asia's most loved country last year by American finance site Insider Monkey, welcomed 13.3 million foreign arrivals in the first four months of this year, up 21% year-on-year and 12% against the same period of pre-Covid levels in 2019.
